The New York Times Covered the Crisis in Caregiving – Here’s What We Shared

Tribute’s mission is rooted in the belief that exceptional care starts with exceptional Caregivers. Every day, we see the power of the bonds formed between our Caregivers and clients they support. These relationships are built on trust, compassion, and continuity – and they are at the heart of everything we do.

Our CEO, John Sneath, was featured in a New York Times story on how recent changes to immigration policy are impacting Caregivers across the country. John shared the experience of having to part ways with valued team members whose work authorization had been rescinded:

“It’s hard enough to invite somebody into your home to get care. And once you have these relationships, it’s very hard to see them end,” he said. “It compounds all of the other things one has to think about as they’re getting old.”

We share this to shine a light on the people behind the headlines, the remarkable people who have dedicated themselves to serving others and the clients who depend on them. These changes are deeply human events that disrupt lives and care relationships.

At Tribute, we hire the most qualified Caregivers we meet. The need for care is significant. Like others in the field, we are navigating how best to support our clients in the face of workforce shortages and difficult goodbyes.

We will remain unwavering in our commitment to Caregivers—those who are here today, those who have had to leave, and those we will welcome in the future. We will continue to advocate for the respect, recognition, and support they deserve. Because when we stand by Caregivers, we stand by the people they care for.
