How Tribute Home Care Is Using AI to Make More Time for What Matters

Artificial intelligence is changing how home care organizations work. At Tribute Home Care, we’re focused on using AI for a very specific purpose: spending less time on repetitive administrative work and more time on people.

That means more time supporting clients and families, connecting with Caregivers, collaborating with partners, and solving the complex challenges that require human experience and judgment.

Andrew Dobson, Tribute’s Director of Technology Innovation, recently joined the Home Care Strategy Lab podcast to share how Tribute is putting AI into practice and the results we’ve seen so far.

How Is Tribute Using AI in Home Care?

Our approach starts with everyday work.

Where are teams spending time gathering information, preparing reports, moving data between systems, or completing repetitive tasks? Can technology make those processes faster and more useful while keeping people involved where human judgment matters?

In several areas, the answer has been yes.

One of Tribute’s early AI-supported reporting tools reduced a recurring process by approximately five hours of manual work. Another workflow brings information from several systems together during the client intake process, saving approximately an hour of administrative work each day.

We are also using technology to improve home care scheduling. In one early Massachusetts example shared by Andrew during the podcast, an AI scheduling agent helped fill approximately 75% of open weekend visits, giving our scheduling team a way to begin addressing weekend staffing needs earlier in the week.

These efficiencies are meaningful, but the numbers are only part of the story.

The real value is what we do with the time we get back.

More Time for the Human Side of Home Care

Home care is built on relationships.

Matching a Caregiver with a client involves more than identifying an open shift. Supporting a family involves more than processing information. Building strong relationships with Caregivers and partners requires listening, understanding, communication, and trust.

Those are not things we want technology to replace.

Instead, AI can help take some of the repetitive work off our teams so they have greater capacity for the conversations, decisions, and relationships that matter most.

For Tribute, innovation is not about replacing the human side of home care. It is about creating more room for it.

Using Technology Thoughtfully

AI is evolving quickly, and we believe thoughtful implementation matters.

Our teams continue to test tools, validate results, improve processes, and determine where automation is useful—and where a person should remain involved.

Sometimes AI is the right solution. Sometimes a better process is.

The goal is the same: help our teams work more effectively so we can provide better support to the people who depend on us.

Technology will continue to change home care. At Tribute, we want to use it in ways that strengthen what has always mattered most: people caring for people.
