At Tribute Home Care, Caregivers are at the center of everything we do. Their voices reflect what it means to be part of a team built on love, respect, and support. From meaningful relationships with clients and families to professional growth, training, and benefits, these testimonials show the impact of working with Tribute.
Here you’ll hear directly from our Caregivers about their experiences—why they chose Tribute, how they feel supported, and what it means to make a difference in the lives of others. Their words highlight the culture, values, and uplifting approach that define the Tribute experience across Massachusetts, Maryland, Chicago, and Northern Virginia.
When I joined Tribute, one of my first visits was at a community with a couple who didn’t know much about me or the company. In the dining room, people who saw my uniform spoke so highly of Tribute—it reassured both me and the clients. That day confirmed I was with the right company, and I’ve loved Tribute ever since.

My client is very kind. She named me her life savior, her angel, and her sweetheart. I was so happy when she told me about her life when she was younger.

Tribute is my home. Tribute has made me who I am today. They have given me the platform to do what I do best. I am with Tribute forever.

I look forward to working with my client. She really inspires me because she looks at age like it’s just a number and she’s motivated to keep going each day. She makes me so happy with the progress she makes every day.

Every Monday morning I walk into Claire's room and she has the biggest smile on her face when she sees me.

My spirit was lifted when my client told me that I was doing an excellent job and she called me her guardian angel.

Something that lifts my spirit is my immediate boss, manager, and friend. She always keeps track of me. She always wants to know how I'm fairing with work. She always helps ease my work, creates rapport, and shows empathy-making communication simple, easy, and user-friendly.

Last year on my birthday, my client and her family surprised me. They asked me to take her to the mall, where her niece and husband were waiting by Legal Sea Foods. My client had told them I love lobster. We enjoyed lobster together, took pictures, and had an amazing time.

On a Sunday morning, Tribute asked me to see a client who often tried to run away. When I arrived, he was calm at first, but soon asked his wife to get dressed so they could leave for the airport. Instead of blocking him, I held his hand and said, ‘You want to go out?’ He told me he needed to catch his flight. I gently showed him it was too late for the reservation, even asking Siri for the time. He looked at me and said, ‘You have a good heart. This is the first time someone understands me.’ He kissed my hand, thanked me, and went to sleep. I realized then that people with memory loss just need someone to understand and care for them like anyone else.

I began working with my client in January when she only had two days of care. Because she had Alzheimer’s, I asked my managers about adding more days. My CSM spoke with the family, and they agreed to add one day, though I still felt she needed 24-hour care. One day, I arrived and found her on the floor, calling for help, with dried blood on her body. She had been there a long time and was shivering badly. I called the ambulance, her family, and the office, then stayed with her at the hospital until her family arrived. She spent six days in the hospital with injuries to her eye, head, and knee. I have never been so scared, but I’m grateful her family added more care hours—and proud that I was there to save her life.

I have been working with my client for about seven months. She has a calm and quiet personality. One hot afternoon, after transferring her from her nap to her wheelchair, I brought her some water. To my surprise, she called me by name for the first time and said, ‘Judith, thank you so much, I love you.’ That moment made me realize the impact of my care—it was deeply fulfilling as a Caregiver.

I have been working with a very challenging client who sometimes says cruel things and asks me to leave, but I know that’s not who she really is. Yesterday, we had a good day and she said, ‘Te quiero mucho,’ knowing Spanish is my first language. Giving even a little joy to someone who needs love fills me with peace. That’s why I chose this profession—leaving a mark on someone’s life gives me purpose.

My recent client had trouble getting involved in her community. On my first day, she hadn’t slept and spent the day resting. The next day, she resisted going out at first, but after I helped her shower, get dressed, and did her hair, she changed her mind. We went downstairs and had a wonderful time—she was all smiles, talking with everyone. Since then, she spends far less time in her room and enjoys being part of the community.

A moment that lifted my spirits was with a client in Norwell who had aphasia and other neurological challenges. One visit was especially hard—he was having an outburst, throwing things, and trying to leave the room. Then his daughter and two grandkids arrived, and his entire demeanor changed. He became calm, even speaking more clearly. It reminded me how powerful family bonds are, and how love and connection can help overcome illness, even for a brief moment.

Working with my client was amazing. He was a World War veteran with inspiring stories from his time in the army, and I felt lucky to have spent time with such a legend. His home was filled with beautiful artwork, each piece with its own story. Listening to him was uplifting, and I’ll always remember the experience.

One of my clients is not very verbal. During my first three visits, I only heard a few words from her. But last week, as I was putting her to bed and saying goodnight, she softly said, ‘Wait a minute.’ When I answered, she told me, ‘Thanks for all you do for me and I love you.’ I replied, ‘Catherine, I love you too!’ It was the first time she had ever said something like that to me, and it truly warmed my heart. Moments like this are rare with her, which made it even more special. I was so happy—it brightened my entire evening, and I even called my sister to share it.

I was watching Antiques Roadshow with my client who has dementia, so her memory comes and goes. But as a historian, she came to life when she saw art—sharing details about each piece and even naming the artists before the host did. I’d remind her, ‘You’re brilliant!’ and she would blush and thank me. She was one of the sweetest ladies I have ever known.

We may think it’s just another day at work, but the difference we make in our clients' lives is unmatched. Caregiving is not a career it’s a way of life. I am truly thankful for the impact our clients have in my life

When I met my new client, she truly lifted my spirit right from the start. She told me she likes drawing and painting. I was amazed, she does such a wonderful job. She made my day and she has such a beautiful personality. I was so excited when Tribute called and told me she wanted to have me ongoing.

One day I was a little down because I had been trying to lose some weight for a party. When I expressed my feelings to my client, he said: 'At 98 years old, I learned that what’s important is to be able to wake up every morning and not worry about what kind of pain I’m in. What happens doesn't come from the way you look outside but from the way you feel inside.' Since that day I feel free and happy with who I am.

My client's son once called to tell me how much he and his family appreciated me and what I did. The next day at work, I was given flowers and a card signed by the family telling me how much they appreciated me. This really warmed my heart

My client has dementia and just her welcoming me into her home daily is a blessing. We have become family.

My client’s family made me a surprise dinner and brought me a chocolate cake for taking good care of their family member. I was so surprised and happy! I didn't expect them to do such a nice thing for me!

I take my client to church every Saturday. Last week the priest asked all fathers to stand up for prayers. All the men in the church stood except my client. When asked why he didn't get up, he said he didn’t have any children. I stopped him and said ‘No, you're a father to me.’ He said 'Is that right?' and I said yes. Immediately my client stood up, smiling. You can't imagine how much my spirit was lifted to see my client happy.

The last school year was a challenge for me because there was no school bus for my daughter. My colleagues were kind to change their visit times to accommodate me, which made it easy to work stress-free. I appreciate them and thank each one of them for their teamwork. That lifted my spirits.

I brought a client coffee one morning and she was so thrilled that she must have thanked me a dozen times throughout the day. It made me smile that something so small made her so happy. The client being so appreciative made me feel amazing.

My client’s son told me: 'I have been wanting to extend my heartfelt appreciation for the exceptional care and support you have provided to my mother. Your dedication, compassion, and expertise have brought immense comfort and peace of mind to our entire family.' It filled me with immense joy and gratitude to know that my efforts have made such an impact.

I'm so grateful for the work I do. I have worked with clients who have considered me to be part of their family. Even when I am no longer working with them, they check on me and send texts, gifts, and cards. It makes me continue to work hard and love my work even more. I'm so grateful and happy to be part of the Tribute family.

My new client told her family she got along great with me and liked me. It was a comment that definitely lifted my spirits. I know I’m here to do a job but it helps a lot knowing that my client likes me and enjoys me being here to assist her!
Kaitlyn D.
My client always compliments me. She is the nicest lady and will speak her mind when needed. Since she is always cold, when I get her dressed I always put a sweater on her and every time she says: 'You must know me because I'm always cold even on hot days!' It makes me smile.

I derive so much joy from making my clients smile. I really love this job and the people I work with.

My client and I bonded by cooking her favorite meal together. She explained to me in detail how she makes everything from scratch and how her family loves it. Then, she shared the recipe with me to try myself. That made my day and made me feel so welcome in her home.

I visited my client when an entertainer played music that made him want to dance. He couldn't dance by himself, so two others held him and danced while I recorded the moment for his wife. My client was happy and encouraged others to dance with each other. It was a beautiful moment, just embracing the power of music.

I have a client who asked me if I've ever been to Rhode Island. I said No, and the family invited me to go with them. I was so happy when they said you can come anytime because you're a part of the family.

My client gave me a great big hug and it melted my heart. In that moment, I couldn’t have been more proud of the work I do. It feels good to know that my hard work is appreciated. I am now even more motivated to go back to school and become a nurse. I have so much love to share.

I am a live-in caregiver and went to the doctor for a new prescription for eyeglasses. When I went to pay, I was surprised that my client paid for my new eyeglasses. That meant a lot to me.

On Mother’s Day, my client was at her door waiting to wish me a happy Mother’s Day with a smile on her face, hugging me, and taking pictures. That made me feel like I was home and that I found a new family. I love working with her and she reminds me of my grandmother.

My client was having trouble breathing. I called the office to send me an Uber to take her to the hospital. When we got to the hospital she was taken straight away to the Emergency Room and put on oxygen. She spent two weeks in the hospital to treat her lungs. I’m glad I managed to save her life.
